Dr. Garrott grew up in Northwest Arkansas on a small farm where he harbored a love for animals early on. Becoming a veterinarian was his first real dream as a young boy. Being that Arkansas has no vet school, he chose to attend Oklahoma State University where he earned a degree in Animal Science. During his undergraduate years, he worked at Oklahoma State’s Animal Resources division, a large equine hospital in central Oklahoma, and multiple small animal clinics in Northwest Arkansas. After undergraduate, he was accepted into the 2014 class at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.

While in vet school, Dr. Garrott was blessed to meet the love of his life in classmate Elizabeth Dietz Van Bebber. Their passion for animals, and his wife’s New Orleans roots, landed them in the Acadiana area just after graduation. The Van Bebbers have had their family grow since settling in Lafayette and are the proud parents of a daughter-Emma Jewel, son- George Thomas, Drahtharr dog- Gretta and poodle- Betty. Though Dr. Garrott began his career at LVCC in May of 2014, he chose to further his career at Reaux Animal Hospital, now Spanish Trail Animal Hospital, from 2015-2019. In July of 2019 he returned to LVCC, but still enjoys reconnecting with his New Iberia patients.
