Laser Therapy

Lafayette Veterinary Care Center is proud to now offer Cold Laser Therapy as a treatment option for our patients. We utilize a class IV Cold Laser to perform a noninvasive procedure utilizing light to stimulate injured cells to heal at a faster rate. The procedure also releases natural pain killers known as endorphins. Laser therapy is effective in treating chronic and acute conditions, as well as post- surgical pain and inflammation.

An average treatment session can take as few as five to 10 minutes on a small dog or cat, or about a half hour for larger pets with more painful or arthritic areas. Unfortunately laser therapy is not a recommended treatment for pets that have cancer because the therapy can stimulate blood flow to cancer cells.

Clinical Benefits of Laser Therapy Include:

  • A drug-free option for pain relief
  • Effective for difficult conditions
  • Alternative to surgery in many cases
  • Fast treatment times
  • Easy, comfortable, non-invasive treatment
  • Scientifically-proven
